Gujarat government waiting for centre’s grant for RTE



 
AHMEDABAD: Ashwin Kotwal, Senior Congress MLA from Khedbrahma alleged that the state Government is not executing the central government initiated Right to Education (RTE) act in the state.

He asked the state education minister regarding the status of implementation of the act in state and the time frame for fully implementing the act in state, in reply Minister of State (MOS), Education department Vasuben Trivedi told that the government of India has promised to give Rs 65.33 crore grant for implementation of the RTE act in the state however in has not released any fund yet.

She also said that due to merging of standard eight with primary number of teachers have fall in surplus category. Government is accommodating them for optimum use of them for better implementation of the act.
