Punjab: After teachers, Non-teaching staff demands regular scales
CHANDIGARH: After the contractual teachers in the elementary schools and secondary schools of Punjab, the non-teaching staff of the central-sponsored education projects, Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan(RMSA) and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan(SSA) are demanding regular pay scales from the state government.
The Non-Teaching Staff Union has accused the SAD-BJP government for not fulfilling its promise of regularizing the vacancies and granting them remuneration equivalent to the regular staff.
Talwinder Singh, union president lamented that the state authorities led by the then Principal Secretary to Punjab Chief Minister had promised them to give regular scales from April1, 2012 but even after coming back in power the Akali government had done nothing so far in the direction of fulfilling its promise of salary or regular service. The Union had held a protest in support for their demands on Thursday.
