Secondary TET held in state

GUWAHATI: In a bid to enhance the quality of education in secondary schools, the Assam Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhiyan (RMSA) on Sunday conducted a secondary Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) for the first time in the state. The state government will appoint around 5,000 to 6,000 teachers who pass the test in government-run schools. A total of 54,656 candidates were scheduled to appear for the test, out of which around 85 per cent candidates appeared for the test in the 201 examination centres, said Assam RMSA mission director (in-charge) Dayaram Rajbongshi. He said the exam was held peacefully in all state districts, including the autonomous council areas, on Sunday.
