Funds under Samagra Shiksha increased by 20 per cent, says HRD Minister

HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar has tweeted that the allocated funds for the Samagra Shiksha in Bihar, Gujarat, Manipur and all the other States/UT's have increased.

Amidst the steps that are being taken by the government for advancements in the field of education like NCTE amendment bill, and the new commission set up in the place of current UGC body, Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar has tweeted that the allocated funds for the Samagra Shiksha in Jharkhand and Manipur and all the other states have increased.
He tweeted saying, 'A substantial increase of about 20% from Rs 28,000 cr in 2017-18 to Rs 34,000 cr in 2018-19 for States/UTs for #SamagraShiksha, out of which Rs 31,000 cr already released. More to come. This reflects the commitment of @narendramodi govt for improving the quality of #SchoolEducation’

In another tweet he mentioned, 'An allocation of Rs 315.68 crore has been made for #Manipur in 2018-19 for #SamagraShiksha as compared to Rs 280.09 crore allocated/released to the State in 2017-18 for #SSA, #RMSA, and #TE together.'

Total budget allocated to Gujarat is Rs 827.96 crore in 2018-19 as compared to Rs 723.53 crore in 2017-18. Similarly, about Rs 674.07 crore has been allocated to Haryana.

It has been clearly quoted by the HRD minister that acsubstantial increase of about 20 per cent from Rs 28,000 crore in 2017-18 to Rs 34,000 crore in 2018-19 for States/UTs for Samagra Shiksha, out of which Rs 31,000 crore already released. 
The Union Budget, 2018-19, has clearly proposed to treat school education integrated without the segmentation from pre-nursery to Class 12th.  Last year, the amount allocated for the Samagra Shiksha in Jharkhand was Rs 640.55 crore. A clear rise in the funds can be seen. Similarly, there is a rise in the funds allocated for Manipur.
The Samagra Shiksha campaign is a strong initiative for the school education sector extending from pre-school to class 12 has been, therefore, prepared with the broader goal of improving school effectiveness measured in terms of equal opportunities for schooling and equitable learning outcomes.
It is a wide umbrella of new initiatives that nurture three other schemes of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Teacher Education (TE).
